Association for Medical Education in Europe Annual Conference 2001 "Medical Education and Standards at a Time of Change"Humboldt University, Berlin, GermanyThe conference was attended by approximately 800 participants from over 50 countries. During the conference, Drs. Wojtczak and Schwarz presented the outline of the project developed by the IIME. Their presentation, which was very well received, detailed the progress of the IIME and the concept of global essential requirements. | First Meeting of the Task Force for Assessment White Plains, New YorkThe first meeting of the Task Force reviewed the purpose of Phase 2 of the IIME Project and established a set of working ground rules for discussion, and clarified the assumptions under which the assessment tools would be chosen and specified principles under which the assessment tools would be developed. |
Fourth Meeting of the Steering Committee White Plains, New York
The Steering Committee meeting was chaired by M. Roy Schwarz, and attended by all members. The Steering Committee reviewed the outcomes of the Core Committee meeting and expressed deep appreciation for its hard work and results.

Third Meeting of the Core Committee White Plains, New York
The third meeting of the IIME Core Committee was chaired by Dr. Marvin Dunn. The main task of the Committee was finalization of the "Global Minimum Essentials Requirements" (GMER) and agreement of the content and formulation of the document.
