This database is provided to facilitate communication with and between medical schools. It does not serve and is not intended to serve as a grant of international recognition for the medical schools that are listed.
Work on the database of medical schools began in early 2000 and has taken information from a variety of sources, such as consultation with regional experts, Internet research and contact with the individual schools themselves. The information here is dynamic; as schools move, merge and undertake name changes, as new schools are established, our database changes accordingly.

About the database
We currently have over 1,800 medical schools in our database.
Our data has been gathered from a number of sources. Much of it has come from a survey that we distributed to medical schools in late 2000. If you did not receive this survey and would like your school to be represented in our project, a copy can be downloaded from http://www.iime.org/database/survey.pdf. Schools that have filled out and returned the survey are noted with an asterisk (*) on the following pages.
